Volunteer Camp Hosts
Over the years, we have had many guests volunteer as Camp Hosts to make the Charlotte Plains experience even more enjoyable.
Our motto is “all work and no play, is forbidden.” We want you to feel satisfied in helping us, while at the same time, enjoying all that Charlotte Plains has to offer!
We are currently seeking Camp Hosts for 2025-2026. Ideally, we look for Camp Hosts for a minimum 3-4 weeks (but are flexible). To allow for an stress-free handover, we prefer Camp Hosts overlap by a few days to learn from those before them.
Key Duties Include:
Guest Interaction:
– Assist with check-in: greet guests and let them know where they can set up
– Explain any rules, give directions, and provide general information
– Promote onsite activities such as audio tours, and the sale of merchandise
Campground Maintenance:
– Ensure that grounds, baths, and facilities are neat and tidy
– Clean, hose, re-stock toilets and showers (daily)
– Water lawns (as required)
Campfire:
– Light the communal campfire (daily)
Other tasks may inevitably arise. However, overseeing the campground to ensure harmony, happiness, and enjoyability for all, is our main priority.

– A Charlotte Plains shirt or cap to identify you as a Camp Host.
– A free stay at the Bore Campsite with access to all relevant facilities complimentary.
– Access to fresh drinking water, power and WiFi.
– The opportunity to experience life on a working station.
Our Camp Hosts should be self-sufficient with their own caravan or camping equipment.

As hosts, we checked guests in, entertained guests with happy hour fire, and kept the amenities clean. Not a huge task at all. We met some lovely people and really enjoyed our time there.”

Staff
Charlotte Plains employs hospitality and tourism staff during the tourist season (April – October). Basic onsite accommodation can be provided with power/WiFi.
Duties Include:
– Operating Bar and Merch Hut (daily)
– Customer service (daily)
– Cleaning campsite facilities and accommodation (as needed)
– General assistance may be required around the property as a farm hand
Requirements:
– RSA and Drivers license
– Own vehicle preferable
About You:
– Friendly and sociable
– Well-organised, self-motivated and easy-going nature to join a small team
– Ability to prioritise tasks in an efficient manner, use initiative, work unsupervised, and own your role
– Excellent communication skills

Live Music Residency
We love live music at Charlotte Plains, and welcome artists who are travelling through or keen to make the journey out to perform at the Bore Campsite. Whether you’re an emerging talent or a seasoned performer, you’ll have the chance to entertain a crowd gathered around the campfire each evening.
Ideally, our music residencies run for a week or longer, with daily performances between 4-6pm. It’s a great opportunity to share your music in an outback setting and connect with guests from all walks of life.

Handyman
From time to time, we need assistance around the property and quite often have people looking to help. If you have skills such as carpentry, plumbing, roofing, mechanic, electrician, etc. and would be interested in assisting – we would love to hear from you!
