Stars of Charlotte Plains is held at the Bore Campsite at Charlotte Plains.

The Bore Campsite is located 4km off the highway, approximately 50km (40 minutes) east of Cunnamulla, 135km (1.5 hours) west of Bollon, and 8.5 hours from Brisbane, QLD.

Charlotte Plains is located within the Paroo Shire, a region rich in Aboriginal history and culture. The Kooma and Kunja peoples have long been associated with this Country. Cunnamulla takes its name from the Kunja language and is understood to mean “long stretch of water” or “big waterhole”, reflecting the enduring importance of water and landscape to local communities.

All guests will be required to check in upon arrival.

If you have booked to stay at Charlotte Plains before or after the festival, standard campsite check-in and check-out times will apply.

Your festival pass includes an unpowered site at the Bore Campsite (so there is no need to book a campsite across the festival dates).

3-Day Passes include a site for Thursday 24, Friday 25, and Saturday 26 June 2027.

2-Day Passes include a site for Friday 25 and Saturday 26 June 2027.

Your festival ticket includes an unpowered site at the Bore Campsite, so you only need to book for the nights before and/or after the festival.

Please follow the instructions below:

1/ Once tickets are on sale, click here to book > Select Stars of Charlotte Plains 2027.

2/ Click Book Now > Select a 3-Day or 2-Day Pass from the dropdown > Click continue.

3/ Click the green + Add to Booking button on the top left > Select Campsites.

4/ Click Book Now on the Bore Campsite > Enter the desired dates before or after the festival > Enter the number of adults/children/under 5’s > Click continue.

If you want to add nights both before and after the festival dates, you will need to repeat steps 3-4.

5/ Enter your contact information and follow the prompts to complete your booking.

Your ticket includes an unpowered campsite at the Bore Campsite. With plenty of space available, sites are not pre-allocated, so you can choose to camp near the Bore Head or further down the Bore Drain for a quieter, more peaceful experience.

If you are travelling as part of a group, we recommend arriving together as it may be difficult to save spots for late arrivals.

IMPORTANT: You must not camp within 20m of the Bore. You will be asked to move if you set up camp within this area.

Guests have access to Charlotte Plains’ famous hot artesian baths and large bore pool, along with flushing toilets/portaloos, urinals and long-drops, and limited shower facilities.

Due to the number of festival-goers, we encourage guests to use their own caravan or portable camp shower amenities where possible. Otherwise, a dip in the bore or public bath tubs will usually suffice!

Shared laundry facilities are located elsewhere on the property, approximately 8.5 km from the main festival area, and are reserved for emergency use during the festival.

There is NO 3G, 4G, or 5G phone reception.

There is satellite internet and Wi-Fi at the Bore Campsite, however service may be limited due to bandwidth.

Guests receive 10 minutes of free Wi-Fi access in one sitting. After that, paid Wi-Fi is available for $10 for 5GB.

There is no power available for campers at the festival site, so guests should come prepared to be self-sufficient for their power needs.

Whilst generators are permitted between 8am and 8pm, we strongly encourage guests to only use them when necessary. Please keep generator use to a minimum so everyone can enjoy the outback atmosphere.

TIP: Use solar, battery packs, or other low-noise power options instead.

There is 4km of unsealed, good dirt road coming off the bitumen highway at the Creek Road (Widgeegoarra) entrance to the Bore Campsite.

In dry conditions, the road is generally suitable for 2WD vehicles, caravans, and motorhomes.

As with all outback roads, conditions can change following rain. If there has been significant rainfall that may affect access, we’ll contact festival-goers by email with any relevant travel advice before arrival.

No. The public bore pools and 14 individual bath tubs dotted along the bore are available for guest use throughout the festival and do not require bookings.

The artesian water emerges at around 42°C and gradually cools as it flows through the bathing area. If you’re new to artesian bathing, we recommend starting at the cooler end of the bore pools and allowing your body time to adjust before moving into warmer water.

Please be considerate of other guests waiting to use the bath tubs, and limit bathing sessions to around 20 minutes at a time. Stay well hydrated and be mindful that prolonged exposure to hot water can cause dizziness, dehydration, or fainting.

Please note that our Private Bathing Hut (located 10km away) is not available for bookings during the festival.

Absolutely! Campfires are part of the Charlotte Plains experience.

Firewood can be collected from any fallen trees or deadwood around the property. Please don’t cut down trees or take wood from the main festival area. 

Please use fire bins/pits where possible, keep fires to a moderate size, and make sure they’re positioned a safe distance from vehicles, caravans, trailers and tents. 

Before leaving your fire, make sure it is fully doused with water and never bury it. By having a campfire, you agree to dispose of your own ash in the designated areas around the campsite. We provide wheelbarrows and shovels to make this easy. We appreciate everyone doing their part to keep our campground safe and tidy!

Yes. Artesian water is available from taps at the shed, toilet block, and separate washing-up area.

The water is suitable for drinking and can also be used to fill caravan or campsite water containers.

TIP: As artesian water has a naturally mineral-rich taste, guests may wish to bring their own filtered or bottled drinking water.

Yes! Our fantastic food vendors will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner items available for purchase. Alternatively, please ensure you bring adequate food to Charlotte Plains for the duration of the festival.

Rubbish & Recycling: General waste and recycling bins will be available around the festival area. Please help us protect the station environment, livestock and local wildlife by disposing of rubbish responsibly and keeping campsites free of litter.

Black-water: There are no black-water dump points at Charlotte Plains. As a privately owned working station, our infrastructure differs from council-run campgrounds and caravan parks. The nearest public dump points are located in Cunnamulla or Bollon. DO NOT dispose of black-water waste in long-drop toilets, amenities, or surrounding shrubbery.

Grey-water: Grey water may be disposed of in non-communal areas, in accordance with onsite instructions.

Fines will apply for incorrect waste disposal.

Stars of Charlotte Plains is an outdoor festival, so guests should come prepared for changing outback conditions, including hot days, cold nights, wind and the possibility of rain.

Please bring appropriate clothing, wet-weather gear, and suitable footwear.

If weather conditions are likely to affect festival operations, road access or guest safety, we’ll contact ticket holders by email with any important updates or travel advice before arrival.

Dogs are not permitted in the main festival area, with the exception of assistance animals.

While we understand that some guests may be travelling with their dogs, we don’t actively encourage bringing them to the festival due to the busy nature of the event. Any dogs on site must be well-behaved, able to cope with loud noises and comfortable being alone at your campsite for extended periods while you are in the main festival area.

Dogs must be kept under control at all times, and owners are responsible for immediately cleaning up and appropriately disposing of all dog waste.

Yes. Stars of Charlotte Plains is a welcoming, family-friendly event and we aim to make the festival as inclusive and accessible as possible for all guests.

As an outback event held on a working station, the festival site is predominantly flat but includes natural dirt, grass and gravel surfaces, so accessibility can vary depending on individual needs and weather conditions. Accessible parking and camping areas closer to key facilities can be arranged on request, and our team can assist with transport around the site where practical.

The festival also includes shaded areas, seating, quieter spaces away from the main entertainment area, and food vendors offering a range of dietary options. If you have specific accessibility, mobility, sensory or other requirements, we encourage you to contact us before your visit so we can discuss how we can best support you.
