Your Light It Up adventure begins with the option to participate in the community-led lantern building art workshop. Create your own personalised lantern and join the parade of street performers and fire twirlers to the festival showgrounds where your artwork becomes one of hundreds of pieces that constitute the festival’s large ‘lighted’ sculpture. Then kick back and enjoy the local hospitality as the highlight of the evening’s festivities culminates in a light show and concert featuring ARIA Award-winning First Nations singer-songwriter Emma Donovan & the Putbacks and Wergaia and Wemba Wemba musician Alice Skye. You can choose to arrive a bit early to enjoy the entire Outback River Lights Festival or stay an extra day or two to explore the town before heading back out.
